Grade quality imply the way the perfume oils are designed for longevity (sillage) in the final retail perfume product.

A higher grade quality oil can be reduced in the preparation for a lighter product. Longevity/sillage is measured on French standards and is estimated on clothing (not skin):

L1 = i.ex colognes, aftershaves; M2 = i.ex Eau de Cologne, Eau de Toilette; M3 = i.ex Eau de Parfum; H4 = i.ex Eau de Parfum, Eau de Parfum intense; T5 = i.ex Parfum.

* The masceration process is important and can affect longevity, depth and sillage of a perfume, and should be done professionally.
